JAMMU: All J and K PHE Department, ITI Trained and CP Workers Association held a protest demanding  regularization policy here on Wednesday.

Large number of casual labour, ITI trained, CP and need based workers of PHE assembled in front of Press Club and raised slogans in favour of their demands.

Addressing the protestors, Tanveer Hussain, President of the Association, expressed anguish over the false promises of the previous Government made with 61,000 casual labourers working in various departments.

“Number of committees and sub-committees were framed by the Government to resolve our long pending demands, but every time our files seem gathering dust in the Secretariat. Such moves of prevision Government were merely eye-wash”, he alleged.

He stated that the new coalition Government framed high power committee for the budget but did not bother about the plight of casual labourers, adding that no funds or money has been sanctioned for the regularization and wages of the daily wagers and CP workers.

“We submitted our demands to the Finance Department. The high power committee should refer to them and make their decision regarding the matter”, he added.

The protestors demanded regularization policy for all casual labourers, ITI Trained, CP and need based workers who have completed five years of their services.

The association workers gave a deadline to government to amicably solve their issues before 20th May, 2015 but it failed to resolve their issues and thus the organization has decided to completely shut down their work in both Jammu as well as Kashmir Region.

The association also urged others organizations and daily wagers of all departments to come forward to take the struggle of their regularization to logical end.
