Nissar of Doda bags Bhamag Kesari dangal title

JAMMU: Wrestler Nissar of Doda clinched the 17th Bhamag Kesari Dangal title beating Babbar of Kot Bhalwal in Jammu in a close contest that took place at Sardabbar (Kalsote), Moungri in block Moungri in district Udhampur. Dangal was part of the three-day Moungri Mela.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Reasi, Ajay Nanda was Chief Guest, who gave away the cash prizes to those winners and runners up wrestlers of this day-long event held under the banner of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was overall Incharge of the Dangal.
Swantanter Dev Kotwal, Deputy Director, Azhar Rashid, Naib Tehsildar, Kasturi Lal Sharma were Guests of Honour. Also present were BDO Sajjad Sumbaria, SHO Panchari Sanjay Abrol, Varinder Badyal, Rattan Singh Manhas and Ramesh Singh, Hosiar Singh, and Yash Paul.
Earlier, winner wrestler, Nissar was awarded with cash prize of Rs 6,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta by chief guest. Runners-up, Babbar bagged Rs 5,000 as cash prize.
Members Bhamag Kesari Dangal Committee and technical officials included Swantanter Dev Kotwal, Hans Raj Thakur, RS Manhas, Varinder Badyal, Vijay Singh, Mohd Fareed, Tulinder Kumar, Kartar Singh, Murli Dhar (Munna), and Laxhman Dass Katoch.
In all, 31 bouts were decided in this Dangal. Other Results: Ajay Sharma beat Dinu, Billu beat Parhald Singh, Liaqat Hussain beat Bushan, Salman beat Bittu, Panku beat Karnail Singh, Sunil Kumar beat Surjeet Singh, Bhushan beat Pritam Singh, Ranjeet beat Surjeet Singh and Sunil beat Vijay.
