RAJOURI: Three persons got killed while two others received serious injuries in two different road accidents near Rajouri Town on Saturday.
According to a report, a scooter borne teenage boy collided with a mini truck on Jammu Rajouri Poonch Highway in Muradpur village and died on the spot. His body was later shifted to District Hospital Rajouri where medical formalities were conducted. Deceased was identified as 18 years old Mohammad Arif son of Noor Hussain resident of Nadian Darhal at present Rajouri town. Police also registered a case in this regard while driver of the mini truck was also arrested.
Meanwhile, two persons were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a tipper they were travelling in plunged into a gorge. Tipper (JK11 2085) its was on way to Kariyan village on the Dassal Palullian link road and plunged into a several hundred feet deep gorge as driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn. Locals of the area and police team led by SI Jahanger Ahmed from city police post rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
After about an hour long efforts, police managed to bring all the four person out of the vehicle debris out of which driver namely Sanjay Kumar son of Puran Chand died on the spot while another one Suresh Kumar son of Sat Pal died on way to district hospital. Other two persons namely Sonu Kumar son of Des Raj and Neetu Sharma son of Kali Dass were referred to GMCH Jammu from district hospital in serious condition. Police has also registered a case in this regard.
