AKHNOOR: Two persons were on Tuesday arrested in connection with alleged smuggling of illicit liquor in Jammu District, police said.
A police team laid a surprise checkpoint at Khour Bazaar in Akhnoor belt of the district and intercepted two pedestrians Kamal Kishore and Nikka Singh, a police official said.
During their search, they recovered 214 bottles of illicit country made liquor, he said. Both of them were arrested, he said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection and investigation of the case is on.
