BANDIPORA: The Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar, on Tuesday reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to redo the education system and said tangible results shall be visible on the ground soon. He said Government is taking various measures to develop a sound academic atmosphere in the State.

The minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the cross country run from Shilvit to Sumbal organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Sumbal.

Akhtar said students should be encouraged to explore their hidden talent and creative side by involving them in extramural activities. He said activities like field visits, hiking, mountaineering and expeditions should also be promoted among the students to energize their capabilities.

As many as 350 students from 61 Middle Schools and 3 High Schools participated in the run. First and third positions were bagged by Baba Gani Public School, while student of MS Malik School bagged the second spot.

Later, the minister distributed prizes among the winners.
