Workshop on research methodology begins

JAMMU: Ten days national workshop on Research Methodology for Social Sciences organised by the Department of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour commenced at the Central University of Jammu.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. This ten-day workshop is supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) under capacity building programme as part of its nationwide initiative to raise the quality of research in the country.
The workshop is being attended by the participants from all across the Northern States of India including 40 selected and 80 scholars falling in waitlist and internal scholars including the scholars from Central University of Jammu.
Acclaimed statistician and researchers from across the country will deliver lectures in the coming days of the workshop which will enhance the research skill and knowledge of the participants.
Prof. Ashok Aima, in his presidential address, emphasised on the importance of quality and original research. He urged upon the research scholars to continuously embark on the upward learning curve. He announced that CUJ shall in times to come organise two more such workshops for research scholars and faculty members alike. He further informed that all the scholars who had applied and could not get an opportunity in this workshop shall be given preference in the forthcoming workshops. He further announced that IBM sponsored four days workshop will be organised in continuation to the present one for enlightening the students with advanced research methodology techniques.
Prof. Alok Saklani, Director, Apeejay School of Management, delivered the keynote address wherein he emphasised on the importance and need of research.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Dean School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu, informed that the workshop aims at improving the knowledge of research and equipping the students with the contemporary research techniques.
The session concluded with formal vote of thanks by Asif Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA HRM and OB, CUJ.
