JAMMU: To extol the achievements of the do gooders of the society who come forward to lend a helping hand to the suffering masses, the World Red Cross Day was celebrated on Friday. This year, this day has been dedicated to those who offered a helping hand to affected people in areas of natural calamities. In time when the nature has played havoc with the lives of people, the endeavours put in by the organisation and its members are laudable.
In a special assembly at JK Public School Kunjwani, the students were apprised of the role played by the Red Cross Society and its affiliated groups. The principles and values the group stands for were also highlighted.
