Lecture on drug abuse held at MAM College

JAMMU: To create awareness amongst youth against drug abuse, a motivational lecture was organised at Government MAM College in collaboration two J and K Boys Battalion NCC Jammu under the guidance of Lt. Col. Manisha, SRS Officiating Commanding Officer, 2nd J&K Boys Battalion.

The function was organised under the presidentship of Dr. Anita Sudan, Principal of the College while Dr. Manu Arora a noted psychiatrist was the Chief Guest.

Associated NCC Officer, Prof. Savita Jamwal gave brief profile of the NCC activities of the College.

Dr. Manu Arora said that drugs abuse should be managed and it is for the young mindsets to come forward and propagate the message to the common masses. Drug addicts have to be counsels so that they are accepted socially as well as by their family members after the de-addiction therapy.

Addressing the staff and the students, Dr. Anita Sudan said that the drugs are a menace for humanity and it is pity that people of all ages are fast becoming victims of drug addiction which is causing a lot of damage to their health and in many cases even leading to death.

Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, HoD Chemistry presented vote of Thanks.

Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof. Kawaljit Kaur, Prof. Sarmishta Sharma, Prof. Jozfen Afzal, Prof. Reena, Prof. Sudesh Kumar, Prof. Priyadarshni and Dr. Shahid Rasool.
