VIJAYPUR: Inter-School Football tournaments of under–14 and under–17 for boys of Vijaypur Zone, organized in the MV International School ground, here on Wednesday.
In the U-14 category, MV International School defeated Praveen Model High School, Supwal by 3 goals to nil. Goals were scored by Khushagar VIII-A, Atish VIII-B and Adhiraj VII-A of MV International School.
In the U-17 category league match, Praveen Model High School, Supwal defeated Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur by 1-0 goal.
The final was won by MV International School defeating Parveen Model Higher Secondary School by 2–0. Abhishek and Badal of IX B of MVIS shot one goal each.
The teams for both age groups were selected for the inter zone competitions.
The tournament was organized the supervision of ZPEO Vijaypur, Vijay Singh Slathia. The matches were officiated by Sanjay Gupta PEM, Rajinder Singh, PEM, Mohinder Kumar, PET and Dalveer Singh PET, Sarita, Rajkumari and Bawana Koul.
Earlier K. L. Dogra, Principal MV international School declared the meet open. Gourav Abrol, Director MV International School felicitated the winners and motivated them to play to uplift the spirit of the game. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman MVIS congratulated the players and urged the selected team members to work hard for final selections at the National Level.
