NOWSHERA: Government Middle School (GMS), Jhanger defeated Government High School (GHS), Hanjana by straight 2-0 (25-14m 25-22) sets and lifted the volleyball title in the Inter School under-14 Tournament for Boys, played at Boys Higher Secondary School, Nowshera, which concluded on Tuesday.
SDM, Nowshera, Harbans Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest in the closing ceremony who gave away prizes among winner and runner-up teams.
Sharma asked young buddies to take part in games and sports which is an essential part of present scenario. He also lauded the role of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Rajouri for promoting sports skill in the area.
In Kabaddi, New National Public School defeated High School Hanjana by three (19-16) points while kho-kho title was won GMS Kalsian beating GMS, Qasba Pain by an inning and two points in a one sided contest.
The matches were officiated by S. Surjeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Anita Kohli and Dinesh Kohli.
Prominent persons present were Mohammad Ayaz Khan DYSSO Rajouri and Suresh Prabha Principal, Boys Higher Secondary School, Nowshera.
Organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, Tournament was held under the supervision of Gulzar Ahmed ZPEO Nowshera while Rakesh Choudhary conducted the proceedings.
