30 illegal structures removed around Dal Lake

SRINAGAR: Continuing its demolition drive against encroachments, the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) in coordination with Muslim Waqf Board, Hazratbal carried out a successful encroachment removal drive in Hazratbal area Tuesday.
During the drive, 30 illegal kiosks/constructions were demolished near Asar-e-Sharief, Hazratbal by the Enforcement Wing of the authority.
Further, the Enforcement Wing in the intervening night of 1st May, 2015 seized six tippers carrying construction material within the jurisdiction of the authority and FIR was lodged against the drivers/tipper owners in Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh.
The authority of LAWDA the general public is asked not to undertake any kind of construction within 200 metres from the lake/green belts. Illegal construction if undertaken be demolished by the defaulter at his own level or else the authority will be left with no option but to demolish the illegal structures so raised.
