JAMMU: All J and K Dalit Chetna Manch celebrated Lord Buddha and Baba Saheb Dr. B. R Ambedkar Jayanti in a function organised in the premises of Guru Nabha Dass Community Hall at Dogra Hall here on Monday.
On the occasion, the Minister for CAPD Ch. Zulfkar Ali was the Chief Guest besides MLA Chamb, Samba and President All J and K Dalit Chetna Manch were also present.
While inaugurated the function with the lightening of lamp, the minister throw light on the significant role played by Baba Sahib for the welfare of the weaker section. He recalled Dr. Ambedkar as a great social reformer and legal luminary who played a pivotal role in framing the constitution of India.
All J and K Dalit Chetna Manch also presented a chatter of demands to the minister for their early redressal.
Zulfkar assured the Manch that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a phased manner.
As per the commitment of the Coalition Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayed, the minister said that govt. will uplift the socio-economic condition of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and below poverty line people also, he added.
