Vigilance & Monitoring Committee meet held at Kathua

KATHUA: Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Member Parliament 5-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency Dr. Jitendra Singh chaired a meeting of Vigilance and Monitoring Committee here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex, Kathua.
District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar and newly elected members of constituencies viz Rajiv Jasrotia (Kathua) , Dr Nirmal Singh (Billawar), Jewan Lal (Bani) and Kuldeep Raj (Hiranagar) other member of the committee besides Chief Planning Officer Kathua, ACD Kathua, Chief Education Officer Kathua District Information Officer, Kathua Project Officer DRDA, XENs PWD, PHE, PDD, Irrigation, Flood Control and District Officers Panchs and Sarpanch were present in the meeting.
DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal briefed the meeting about the physical/financial performance for the year 2014-15 of various centrally sponsored schemes/ programmes. A PPT of detailed review report of various works being executed by the concerned departments was presented in the meeting by the DDC.
Chairman on the occasion appreciated the DDC Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal for being elected for National Award for best practices in conduct of Lok Sabha Elections-2014. He hailed DDC and congratulated him for achieving this feat and appreciated his work, pinned hope that the administration under his command will achieve more such feats in coming time.
Various schemes /programmes were discussed in the meeting which included MGNREGA, IAY/RHS, Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC), PMGSY, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), National Rural Drinking Water Supply Programme (NRDWP), Swarn Jayanti Gramin Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) DRDA-ADM, Integrated watershed Management Programme (IWMP), National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP Rev) and National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).
Works being executed under MPLADS were also discussed and reviewed by the MP Dr Jitender Singh.
While throwing light on the initiatives under his tenure Dr Jitender Singh appreciated DDC Kathua for initiating land identification process measuring 3,100 kanals for 5,000 border firing affected families within short span of time.
MP Dr Jitender Singh also informed that Rs 5 Lakh has been issued under MPLAD Fund for the help of border firing victims’ families.
Earlier Union MoS Dr Jitender Singh visited various relief camps for border firing affected families at Hiranagar.
