Market checking conducted ahead Eid- Milad-un-Nabi

DODA: To ensure the availability of essential commodities in hygienic condition and at the affordable prices to the people of the district especially on the occasion of Eid- Milad-un-Nabi which will be celebrated on 4th Jan 2015, the District Administration Doda conducted a two days rigorous market checking in Doda town on 2nd and 3rd January 2015.
While checking the quality and quantity of goods sold to the consumers in the market, a fine of Rs. 900 was imposed and collected an spot besides a joint inspection team of Revenue, CAPD, Municipality and District Police Doda cleared the footpaths encroached by the shopkeepers and hawkers for displaying their articles for selling, which will facilitate hassle free movement of people in the market.
The team also reviewed the sanitary condition of entire town especially the area around the Eidgah where Eid prayers will be held.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Imam Din on the Directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Shyam Vinod Meena personally inspected water supply, sanitation and power supply at the Eidgah and surrounding areas besides he also inspected the water supply, sanitation ,electricity supply in entire town and availability of food items and other essential commodities in the market. PHE, CAPD, PDD, Municipality and other departments were directed to provide all the necessary facilities and help to the people so that this festival is celebrated with religious fervour.
The Deputy Commissioner Doda on behalf of District administration also extended his wishes to the people of Doda District on Eid-Milad –un- Nabi.
He said that this auspicious festival will strengthen the bond of unity, peace and brotherhood among various sections of society.
