Rescue operation launched in border villages as heavy shelling continues
Kathua:- District administration has initiated evacuation of border villagers to safer areas in wake of heavy shelling that continued till late last night and started early morning today. Buses along with security have been deputed to Bobiyan Pansar Paharpur and Lachhipura for safe evacuation.
Relief camps have been made operational at Hiranagar and Marheen. Relief measures under Mission Hifazat are being taken by district administration. Advance alert was already issued and people advised to stay indoors during shelling. Four injured in Hiranagar sector:
1. Suresh Singh S/O Multan Singh R/O Nau Chak. Age 30
2. Mansu S/O Vijay Kumar Age 10 R/O Chhan Lal Din
3. Rajni w/o Prem Kumar age 30 r/o Chhan Lal Din
4. Madhu Bala w/o Pawan Kumar r/o Chhan Lal Din
As of now 300 people have been shifted to relief camps. out of 4 injured 3 have been shifted to GMC Jammu after first aid.Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and senior officers of administration and police are camping at emergency response centre Hiranagar to coordinate relief and rescue operation.
