Army launches workshop to generate employment avenues

RAJOURI: Army started a two-week long workshop to impart skill development training to youths of the bordering Rajouri District.
“Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under Romeo Force took up a project and conducted an electronic gadgets and appliance repairing and maintenance workshop for unemployed youths of various remote villages of Rajouri District,” Jammu-based Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
He said the workshop that started today would continue till 8th January next year at village Rajdhani of the District.
“Unemployed youths from far flung areas of villages Shahdara, Lah, Behrote, Dhok, Kopra and Rajdhani are participating in the event. The training was inaugurated by Commanding Officer of the battalion,” he said.
He said the youths would be provided with basic knowledge of equipment wiring procedure and its maintenance in the two-week course.
“On termination of the course, the candidates will get a certificate from Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Jammu,” he said.
He said the efforts by the Indian Army to empower youths for a better future were appreciated by parents, teachers, and Sarpanchs of the area.
