KISHTWAR: Sixth Police Martyrs Memorial (T-20) Cricket Tournament organised by J and K Police concluded here at Chowgan ground on Friday.
The tournament was held by District Police Kishtwar under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2014-15. The final match was played between Youth Sarkoot and Kishtwar Warriors. Elected to bat, Youth Sarkoot could score 78 runs in 17 Overs. Sohail Sheikh scored 27 runs for Youth Sarkoot and Burhan Qazi took three wickets for Kishtwar Warriors. Kishtwar Warriors chased the target by at the loss of eight wickets thereby winning the final. Burhan Qazi of Kishtwar Warriors was declared ‘Man of the Match’ whereas Henan Malik of the same team was declared as ‘Man of the Series’. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion who also distributed prizes. The function was presided over by SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas and was attended by CO 8 RR Rakesh Kumar Mishra, CO 52 Bn CRPF Mukesh Tiyagi, ACR Kishtwar Sudarshan Kumar and other officers of civil administration and District Police Kishtwar. Deputy Commissioner and SP Kishtwar spoke on the occasion and deliberated upon utility of conduct of these programmes by J and K Police under Civic Action Programme. Large number of people witnessed the final event and appreciated the efforts of District Police Kishtwar in this regard.
