JAMMU: Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur of Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Tuesday extended the interim direction for not arresting the petitioner in the much publicised 4th class alleged backdoor appointment case, in which Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu has applied for the pre-arrest bail.
The Anticorruption Court had denied the pre-arrest bail to Chief Education Officer Jammu with the direction that the allegations against the accused were of serious nature, his capability to hamper the investigation and the need of custodial interrogation of accused by investigating agency. Against that order, CEO Jammu Tarsem has filed present bail application.
When the bail application came-up for hearing, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing senior Advocate B.S Salathia with Advocate Meenakshi Salathia appearing for the applicant observed that neither Senior AAG Gagan Basotra had appeared nor he had filed the objections and observed that on the last date of hearing, on account of pendency of present bail application which has already heard in part, the investigating officer assured Court that he will not arrest the petitioner till Monday but he is not present today and directed to list this bail application on 29th December, 2014 with the direction that interim direction shall continue.
