JAMMU: Jesus Motivated Group organised declamation and speech competitions for the students of Christian community at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, Prem Nagar here on Tuesday.
The competition was conducted under two categories including junior category and senior category in which 63 students of different schools participated.
Monsignor Ivan Pereira, the Bishop of J and K Diocese was the Chief Guest. He distributed the prizes to the winners.
Fr. Virkey, In-charge Priest of the Church was the Guest of Honour and Anil Gill was the Special Guest. Raj Verma Principal DPS Katra, Rajesh Bakshi CPO Crimes Jammu, Johnson Gill, Senior Alphonsa, Senior Babita Principal St Peters’ School and Fr Johnpaul were the adjudicators.
Chief Guest Ivan Pereira appreciated the Jesus Motivated Group for conducting this competition for the Christian Students on the occasion of Christmas. He said that the participation in these competitions will help the children in making their dreams true in their life.
Welcome address and brief detail of Jesus Motivated Group was presented by Rajesh Gill, President of the Group while the proceedings of the function were conducted by Fr. Maria Dass and vote of thanks was presented by the group member Victor Bhatti.
In junior category Rabeeca Rupunzal was declared first, Siyon Samuel second and Mavish Gill bagged the third prize, while the consolation prizes were given to Jatin Sotra, Sovin Sandhu and Marita Mattoo.
In senior category Desire Sotra was declared first, Disha Sotra second and Jene Gill bagged the third prize whereas consolation prize was given to Fizza Mooman.
