JAMMU: Fire brand leader of BJP and Union Minister Uma Bharti said there was a time when it was difficult to hoist the National Flag in Kashmir when in 1991 militants challenged a visit to Lal Chowk . But this work was done by me and I hoisted the Tricolor at Lal Chowk Srinagar. Unfortunately an FIR was registered against me. But I did not care about such FIR and was ready to sacrifice any chair of minister or Chief Minister for the sake of National Flag and nationalism.
She was addressing a big rally in support at BJP candidates here in Jammu province. She asked the people to support in large number to root out the dynastic rule of Father and Son (NC) and Father and Daughter (PDP), because these leaders failed to do anything for the people of State to end corruption.
“Jammu and Kashmir is famous in world only for corruption and not for development. The people of State are suffering from many grievances” she said.
“The issue of corruption and discrimination with Jammu are major issues of the State. Since 1947 people of the State are facing only troubles. The time of relief has now come when BJP forms Govt. in the State” she said adding that BJP wants to develop J and K State to the highest level.
“The past Govt. was not interested to do so. We want to promote tourism in Kashmir and also asked the State Govt. to send special project to develop tourism and development of Dal Lake. Unfortunately despite the repeated request Omar Abdullah did not do so.
“We have number of projects for tourism, lake and religious tourism development, but cannot declare during the Model Code of Conduct. She appealed to the people to support BJP to form a Govt once and get the result.
