KATHUA: With the motive to aware the young voters about the importance of vote and to enhance the voting turn out in the ensuing Assembly elections District Information Centre Kathua organised a multi-lingual Musharia under SVEEP at Vivekananda College of Education here on Wednesday.
ADDC Kathua Er Narinder Singh Bali was the Chief Guest while Chairman of the College Dr. Sudarshan Gupta was the Guest of Honour. The staff of the college and large number of students were present on the occasion.
The poets recited poems in Hindi, Urdu, Dogri and Punjabi highlighting the importance of vote in the democratic system. They appealed to the audience to cast their vote on 20th of December and also motivate others. The prominent poets who participated in Mushiara included Vijay Sharma, Dr. Paramjeet Sharma, Sham Khajuria, RS Katal, TR Sumbria, Rakesh Kumar Lovely and Hardev Singh.
Cultural programme on election theme was also presented by college students which enthralled the audience.
While addressing ADDC Kathua Narinder Singh Bali said that it is the responsibility of every voter to cast his / her vote to strengthen the democratic setup.
Earlier District Information Officer Indu Jamwal welcomed the Chief Guest and the participants.
Vote of thanks was presented by Chairman of College Dr. Sudershan Gupta.
