Training for polling staff held in Kathua

KATHUA: In order to equip the polling staff about their roles and duties and necessary guidelines of Election Commission of India to be followed during Assembly Election, Returning Officer for Basohli Assembly Segment Gurmukh Singh on Saturday organised a one day training programme for polling staff.
Over 554 polling staff members were provided training with regard to Assembly elections at District Institute of Education and Training Basohli.
During the training collection of poll materials, collection and installation of EVMs, setting up of polling stations and commencement of polls was thoroughly detailed to the trainees. The process of sealing, installation and functioning of the EVM was demonstrated by the master trainers besides the procedure to be followed in case of challenge vote, refuse vote and vote under declaration was also briefed to the trainees.
