JAMMU: “There are politicians who are coming to Gandhi Nagar Constituency today to ask for your votes. You should ask these political parties and their leaders what they have done for the people of this constituency apart from issuing press notes and giving speeches”, said Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Congress candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency Raman Bhalla.
He added that the people of J and K especially Gandhi Nagar Constituency need to rise above sectarian division and communal polarisation to give a decisive and inclusive mandate to Congress to ensure equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the State.
He stated this while addressing series of election meetings in Satwari, Sainik Colony, Digiana, Preet Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Channi Rama, Dharp, Marble Market and Mattoo Colony areas of the Gandhi Nagar Constituency today.
“We have to stick together and breach new frontiers of development and progress and be assets for each other. Some of the divisive forces, who are trying to fragment us and divide people for their own political interests are enemies of this State and its future generation”, he said.
The minister also stated that the Congress sees the upcoming elections as an opportunity to establish new bonding between the communities and regions within the State. He urged upon women voters and youths in particular that development and progress are the main election agendas of his performance and should be compared with his predecessors whom they had rejected repeatedly but re-appear to pursue sinister designed destructive politics.
Bhalla appealed to the people to gaze the history of candidate or party before casting their vote as it decides their future for six years in J and K.
Among others present were Bittu Pardhan, Billa Choudhary, Sunny Singh, Mohinder Singh, Raj, Sonu, Darshan Mehra, Madan Lal, Vijay, Somi, Parvez Malik, Kamal Singh, Kashmir Singh and Iqbal Singh.
