AKHNOOR: Senior Congress Leader and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, who filed his nomination papers from Akhnoor Assembly Constituency to seek third term as their MLA, on Monday asserted on his 12 years performances and development agenda to seek popular mandate.
Addressing public rally, Sham expressed his satisfaction that while his struggle for Chief Minister from Jammu will continue at last, under political compulsions’ being endorsed by such political forces who compromised with separatists, accused further even hijacked Hurriyat Conference agenda for their vested political interests.
Sharma claimed in the changed political scenario, his pledge as incorporated in Congress election manifesto about demand for Regional Development Council hopeful of becoming reality as people feel next State Government to be formed by Congress after voting as single largest party in the Assembly.
He reminded people of Akhnoor that when they elected him as their MLA first time given three targets, a Degree College at Akhnoor another bridge on River Chenab and third upgradation of Govt. Girls High School which were not only fulfilled but gave Akhnoor Constituency a new shape and vision to be model constituency in Jammu region with attention on development of infrastructure..
Sharma said new hospital, dispensaries, roads, tube-wells, lift irrigation scheme cause ways, vented cause ways to ensure all season, connectivity of remote Kandi and hilly areas in the Akhnoor Constituency.
Sham re-pledged that his vision of Model Akhnoor Constituency will be sole agenda which is his firm belief and lifelong goals to achieve through popular mandate for which he urged upon them will be his claim only.
Senior Congress leader and former MP, Madan Lal Sharma, in his address to seek Akhnoor masses popular mandate for Sham Lal, said he equally share with them their compliments for Sham Lal who during 12 years did lot to develop and make Akhnoor as Model Constituency.
Sharma, who emerged as a bold choice of Jammu region to seek Akhnoor voters majority, said Congress is going to form next Government and Akhnoor people to be rewarded with some important and major responsibility in the government indicating Sham Lal Sharma’s elevation in next Government.
