REASI: An estimated 2,37,746 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise during the simultaneous polls to three Assembly constituencies on 2nd December.
In all, 31 candidates including 28 male and three females are contesting the three Assembly seats.
Moreover seven contestants are in fray for the AC 57-Gulabgarh, 14 from AC 58-Reasi and 10 from 59 Gool Arnas.
Briefing the media persons, District Election Officer Reasi-Shabir Ahmad Bhatt said the district administration is all set to conduct the elections in a smooth and peaceful manner.
403 polling stations have been set up for the polls in three Assembly constituencies.
DEO added that 6,336 polling personnel are deployed, which include 4,724 police and 1,612 civil, for poll duty, further adding that live web-casting will take place at 31 polling stations across Reasi District.
“We are also ready from the security point of view. Unprecedented security personnel comprising CRPF, BSF, JK police personnel, Magistrates, Micro Observers are deployed to conduct peaceful poll, SSP Reasi-Vivek Gupta informed.
Polling will begin at 8:00 AM in the morning and end at 4:00 PM in the evening.
It is important to mention here that Reasi Assembly segment with 1,08,084 voters is largest among the Assembly constituencies in Jammu region going to polls in second phase on 2nd Dec.
