JAMMU: An inter-school and inter-college poster making competition was held at Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School on Monday to observe World AIDS Day.
Students made posters on the theme ‘AIDS: Prevention and Cure’. The competition adjudicators were Dr T.R Raina Administrator Swami Vivekananda Mission Charitable Hospital and former HoD Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College Jammu and K.K Gandhi a renowned artist from the State.
Gandhi praised the students for their artistic expressions where as Dr Raina stressed the need to strengthen the fight for prevention of spread of AIDS.
The Chairperson of the Handa College of Education and Tiny Tots Group of Schools, Veena Handa praised the judges for the interest they took in selecting the winners. The winners included:
First prize was shared by Poornima from Model Academy and Preeti Kumari from Tiny Tots HSS, Residency Road in Inter School Competition while second prize was shared by Manjeet Singh of Tiny Tots HSS Residence Road and Ghansham of Tiny Tots HSS Sainik Colony and third prize was shared by Pranay Sharma of Heritage School and Diksha Dogra of Tiny Tots HSS Residency Road.
Consolation prizes were won by Suneha Manhas Tiny Tots HSS Sainik Colony, Anhar Fiza of ASN HSS, Sonali Sharma of SM Shiksha Niketan, Priyanka of Model Academy and Meena Kumari of New Modern College, Haripriya Sharma from Tiny Tots HSS Roop Nagar.
The first prize was shared by Diksha Bakshi from MIER and Shikha Singh from JK College, second by Mukesh Sharma from MIER College and Pradeep Badyal from Adarsh College and third prize was shared by Sanjana Manchanda from MIER College and Ekta Singh from JK College in the Inter College Competition.
The consolation prizes were won by Nadiya from BN College, Aroosa Hamid from Handa College and Anita Singh from New Modern College.
Later Gurpreet Handa presented a vote of thanks.
