JAMMU: APMCC, an organisation working for the return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) on Saturday welcomed the vision document released by BJP which promised to initiate the process of “just and honourable” re-settlement of Kashmiri Pandits.
“Kashmiri Pandits welcome the vision document of BJP which has responded positively to our demand of issuing a detailed blue print for our return and rehabilitation,” All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee chairman Vinod Pandit said.
He said the community was, however, disappointed over the silence of BJP on the introduction of the Temple Bill in the State Assembly.
APMCC had asked all the political parties contesting the elections to come out with a detailed blueprint regarding their stand on the “dignified return of Kashmiri Pandit community to Kashmir Valley before seeking their votes.
He said Kashmiri Pandits were disappointed that all other political parties chose to ignore their demand and continued with their decades’ old rhetoric of dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits ignoring the six point charter of demands and the detailed blue print before elections.
“While other political parties mentioned KPs in a casual manner, BJP has gone into detail and accepted our three demands which was a welcome step but it must also clear its stand on Temple Bill which has been the major demand of APMCC since last many years,” Pandit said.
APMCC national spokesperson King Bharati while appreciating BJPs vision document said that by incorporating three major demands of APMCC in its vision document including steps to facilitate pilgrimage to Sharda Mata Temple in PoK, establishment of Sharda Peeth University in J-K and political reservation for KPs, the BJP has shown its seriousness towards Kashmiri Pandits.
