Inter-school Taekwondo championship concludes: Sprawling Buds bags sub-junior girls’ trophy

JAMMU: Hosts Sprawling Buds School bagged the sub-junior girls’ title trophy in the IX Inter-School Taekwondo Championship held under the banner of Rakwal Taekwondo Club at Chinore in Bantalab, here on Saturday.
In the same sub-junior category of boys, the BSF School Paloura emerged the champion. Similarly, the junior boys’ title trophy went to RZA Taekwondo while Rich Harvest School secured winners’ trophy in junior girls group.
Earlier, young boys and girls contested for the top honours in various weight and age categories in this two-day competition held under the aegis of District Jammu Taekwondo Association.
Director School Education, Jammu, R,A Inqilabi was the Chief Guest in the valedictory function held at the Sprawling Buds School, who presented medals to position holders.
He congratulated the medal winners and appreciated the organizers for involving young students in sports. Prem Singh Chib was guest of honour in the closing function.
President of J and K Taekwondo Association, P.C Sharma and General Secretary, D.N Pangotra were Special Guests. Chairman of the organizing committee and Director of the host school, Rahul Sharma presided.
Prominent among others present were Mohinder Sharma, Kudeep Singh, Jyoti Baru, Amit Dutta, Arti Sharma (Director, Sprawling Buds School) and Pooja Sharma (Principal of the host school).
Gurinder Rakwal was Organising Secretary while Atul Pangotra headed the technical penal. The technical individuals were Sanjay Kumar, Mukta Gupta, Arvind Satti, Narinder Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Balvinder Bhau, Rajan and Sunil Singh.
