Jammu: Election Commission on Wednesday issued notification for holding the elections in 20 of the 87 Assembly seats in the fifth and last phase of the five-stage Assembly polls.
The constituencies going to polls are Bani, Basohli, Kathua, Billawar, Hiranagar(SC) in Kathua District and Nagrota, Gandhinagar, Jammu East, Jammu West, Bishnah, R S Pura(SC), Suchetgarh, Marh, Raipur Domana (SC), Akhnoor and Chhamb (SC) in Jammu District and Nowshara, Darhal, Rajouri, Kalakote in Rajouri District, an official spokesman said.
As per the notification, 3rd December will be the last date for filing of nominations while scrutiny of the papers will be held on 4th December and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 6th December, he said.
Elections in these constituencies will be held on 20th December from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 29th December is the date before which the elections would be completed, the official said. (PTI)
