51st Death anniversary of Gen Bikram Singh observed

JAMMU: General Bikram Singh Yadgar Committee, (GBSYC) paid glorious tributes to General Bikram Singh and other senior army officers on their 51st death anniversary.
General Bikram Singh and other senior army officers Lt. General Bikram Sigh, Lt. General Daulat Singh, Air Vice Marshal E.W Pinto, Major General K.N.D Nanawati, Brigadier S.R Obrai and Flight Lieutenant S.S Sodhi lost their lives in a tragic air crash in Poonch sector on 22nd November, 1963.
Every year on this day grand function is organied by General Bikram Singh Yadgar Committee at Bikram Chowk Jammu since 1964.
The function started with washing the statue of Gen. Bikram Singh with milk and sacred water. All religion prayers were offered by Bhai, Pandit, Padri and Moulvi for peace of immortal souls.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal, State President Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, Working President Jammu Peoples Province Forum, M.S Katoch, President Amar Kashatrya Rajput Sabha, Th Narayan Singh, Senior BJP leaders Avinash Rai Khanna, Ashok Khajuria, Rajesh Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma (CA) among other dignitaries were present.
Chairman of the Committee, Lalita Sharma throw light on the life of great General. She said that General Bikram was very particular about welfare of soldiers and even visit common kitchen to check food quality being served to soldiers.
President State Akali Dal, Gajan Singh said that the love of General Bikram Singh for nation was unparalleled and he never tolerated even an inch land to be occupied by Pakistan or China.
He said that in 1962 war with China, General Bikram Singh played a crucial role in saving Indian territories.
