Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey for speeding up construction of residential sheds

SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary (CS), Mohammad Iqbal Khandey on Friday visited Rajbagh, Parimpora Fruit Mandi and Harwan areas and inspected the construction work of the 40 residential sheds for the flood-hit families.
The Chief Secretary was informed that 10 structures at Rajbagh, 20 structures at Fruit Mandi Parimpora and 10 structures at Harwan are being constructed at a total cost of Rs. One crore. He was informed that Rs. 2.50 lakh is being spent on each structure which will be completed within the stipulated time.
The Chief Secretary was informed that 504 residential sheds are being constructed in the Valley.
Khandey directed Chief Engineer PWD, Kashmir to speed up the construction work on the said residential structures so that flood affected persons get suitable residential facilities at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, Secretary General Administration Department, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Chief Engineer PWD Kashmir and other senior officers.
