National School Games: U-14 badminton today

JAMMU: Trained under the guidance of coaches from within and outside the State, the J and K shuttlers look confident of improved show in the 60th National School Games under-14 badminton starting from Friday at different venues, here.
“Both boys and girls teams are upbeat to take on the visiting opponent sides in the competition ahead. Comparatively, the girls have better prospects,” Coach of the State teams, Jyoti Thakur told.
Earlier, the nine-member teams, including four girls, underwent a 15-day long camp held at Badminton Hall of the District Police Lines (DPL), here.
Teams: Boys: Amir Ishfaq Ahmed, Sayam Sharma, Ritik Anand, Subkirat Singh and Ruchar Agarwal.
Girls: Naman Magotra, Bhawani Dalpatia, Nupur Mahajan and Ridham.
Meanwhile, most of the participating teams reported today to the organisers, Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). The technical committee too held deliberations at the Youth Hostel thereby finalises the fixtures and draws.
It was decided to start the actual competition simultaneously at both the venue soon after the inaugural function slated to be held on JU campus in the afternoon.
