JAMMU: The Science Wing of State Institute of Education (SIE) Jammu organised a quiz competition in Science here on Tuesday.
Nine teams of various districts of Jammu Division participated in the competition. The quiz competition was inaugurated by H.R Pakhroo Joint Director Trainings. He stressed on the importance of organising such programmes as these competitions help the students to find gaps in their knowledge and causes them to learn more for future competitions.
O P Bhagat Field Advisor / In-charge Science Wing explained to the students, the purpose of these competitions in the current century which has been labelled as the century of knowledge.
Rajinder Kumar, Puneet Thukral and Suresh Gouria acted as Quiz Masters while Shashi Paul maintained the scores of the participating teams.
The first prize in the competition was bagged by the students of Govt High School Ghambir Brahmana District Rajouri comprising Aisha Shikh, Sarfraz Ahmed and Akshay Sharma, second prize went to New Convent Institute Banihal District Ramban comprising Kashif Fareed and Basit Jameel and the third prize was bagged by the students of Sant Mela Ji Public School District Poonch comprising Jaspreet Singh and Intkhab Ahmed.
H.R Pakhroo distributed the prizes and certificates.
