Residents resent exclusion of villages from Gole Nyabat
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Residents of ten villages resented against the State Government for including them in newly created Panchayat Marh and Nyabat Shahzadpur from existing Nyabat Gole and Tehsil Jammu.
Residents of ten villages headed by Panchs and Sarpanchs assembled in Revenue Training Institute Gole Gujral and staged a protest against the State Government amidst anti-government slogans.
The protesters strongly opposed the government order for including villages Gole, Seohra, Ranjitpur, Kharbuje, Chakgulami, Gujral, Dhamal, Tarlokpur, Hazooribagh and Kheyarian in newly created Shahzadpur Nayabat.
Alleging that they have been cheated, residents said that they were expecting Gole to be elevated as Tehsil for the benefit of the people but they were shocked with the decision of exclusion of their villages. They said that it is beyond understanding that people of Gole have been ousted and forced to travel distance of about 15 km to Shahzadpur.
They said that the objective behind the creation of new units was to provide facility to common man at doorsteps and not to harass people.
They alleged that the order seems to be issued without any ground work having an element of malafide intention and is anti-public. They urged the State Government to withdraw the order in the interest of public without any delay.
The protestors threatened to launch an agitation if order was not withdrawn and all these villages were not included in Gole Nyabat.
Protestors from all ten villages also warned to boycott Assembly elections if the said order was not modified.
Those who joined the protest include Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Balvinder Singh, Raj Kumari, Inderpal Singh, Santokh Singh, Aagya Singh, Avtar Singh, Arun Jandial and B.L Koul.
