Shingari refutes JMC allegation of unauthorised construction
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Refuting allegation against him made by Jammu Municipal Corporation officials regarding an unauthorised construction at Maheshpura Jammu, Ex Corporator Surinder Singh Shingari told reporters that he is strongly against any unauthorised construction, and he has all along supported the drives of JMC against such constructions.
It is very unfortunate that some JMC persons have tried to drag his name in a case of a unauthorised construction by one Om Parkash, son of Sunder Dass at his workshop, popularly known as ‘foreman’s workshop’, he said.
Shingari further said that JMC is a corporation and its official should not act on the behest of some political parties to tarnish the image of any one to provide political mileage to some one other.
He said that some JMC officials have misinformed to full-fill the interest of some political party by dragging his name in to a case of unauthorised construction carried out by some other person.
Shingari also told that he has also approached in the Court of law to file a criminal and suit of defamation of Rs 10 crores so that JMC is not used as it is now being used by some political interests in this particular case.
Shingari has decided to bring the matter into the notice of Election Commission that when the Modal Code of Conduct is in force, some vested interest in JMC officials are floating baseless information with an intention to provide political mileage to some political party, which is a clear breach of MCC.
