JAMMU: JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla accompanied by former Minister Yogesh Sawhney on Wednesday flagged off Bharat Jodo Yatra rally which started from Guru Nanak Nagar and passed through Preet Nagar, Digiana, Shastri Nagar and culminated at Nai Basti.
The rally was organized by Congress Sewa Dal Chief Vijay Sharma Babbi, Block President Mandeep Singh & Pardeep Bhalla.
Bhalla said Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will create history in J&K.
He said, ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is not only enabling a massive contact programme for the Congress but also introducing itself once again to the ground.
The yatra, he adds, is also effectively rejuvenating the cadres of the party who have long remained dormant.
Bhalla goes on to add enthusiastically, “Rahul Gandhi’s presence plays a huge role. His speeches, will, composure and even his physical fitness are inspiring the party workers and leaders around him. They are willing and keen to give it all, whatever it takes.”
Bhalla said that yatra is no longer a Congress party movement. Yes, there are a lot of Congress people but it’s a people’s movement. People from all shades, people who used to criticise us, people who were bitterly opposed to us, they all have joined hands for the sake of the nation. And that’s why the BJP is running helter-skelter and is scared, added Bhalla.”Bhalla further said that Yatra has attracted thousands across age groups, castes, religions and economic strata, has generated curiosity and hope in civil society and prompted some to shed their negative opinion about Rahul Gandhi.
Yogesh Sawhney alleged that the BJP has pushed the Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented political uncertainty by failing to maintain law and order and indulging in politics of hate.
“BJP ever since getting access to power in Delhi had been on a rampage of dispossessing and disempowering common people of Jammu and Kashmir. It’s not about a particular community or a sect, they have went berserk against all of us collectively. We have been used as political cannon fodders by BJP all across the country”, Sawhney said.
