Nepal looks to China
Dear Editor,
The recent visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to China more than being construed as pro-active diplomatic action should be seen as a result of immature political decisions by India in terms of blocking the supply of essential goods to Nepal. As India is the most powerful country – in territory and economy – in the subcontinent, it is all the more reason why it show be more accommodative towards the concerns of its neighbours. It can ill-afford a situation where China has the upper hand.
