Udhampur Club lifts 34th Volleyball C’ship trophy

UDHAMPUR: Udhampur Volleyball Club (UVC) on Friday lifted the trophy of the 34th District Volleyball Championship organized by Volleyball Association District Udhampur (VADU) under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, which concluded here.
In the final, Udhampur Volleyball Club outplayed City Volleyball Club (CVC) in a close contest by 3-0 with set score on board being 25-22,25-22 and 25-22. Later, the title trophy in this three-day event was presented by the Chief Guest, DIG Suleman Choudhary in presence of Guest of Honour, SSP Udhampur, Dr. Vinod Kumar. President of Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja presided over the function .
Speaking on the occasion, Suleman Choudhary exhorted both teams to display the game with true sportsmanship. He said sports is very vital for young generation to keep physically fit and follow disciplined life and to keep away from drug menace also.
District President Udhampur Volleyball Association, Raj Guru welcomed J&K president Sidharth Daluja and also extended greeting to both teams for their excellent performance in the championship.
Today’s matches were officiated by Naveen Kumar, Vinod Sharma, Sanjeev Verma, Rakesh Kumar, Vinod Khajuria and Suresh Pal.
Others present were SK Magotra Principal BDC, Ashwani Kumar Principal BBSVP, Vikram Slathia Distt President Football Association, Ex-ZEPO Bushan Sethi, Roshan Lal Gupta, Ashok Padha, Suresh Khajuria, Pawan Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Som Raj, Sanjeev Baworia, Tanbir Ahmad and Ashwani Kumar.
