POONCH: Hosts HS Kalai team emerged winner of Volleyball event in the three-day MY Kohli Tournament which was organised in association with AAS Social and Educational Trust, here on Monday.
In the final, H S Kalai defeated SMS Club Bela Chandak. The Kabaddi event of the tournament went to Eijaz Club Mendhar, who trounced SFS Convent School Mendhar 37-35. Earlier, in the semifinal encourter, SFS Convent beat Star Club Surankote 26-21.
In the finals and prize distribution function, veteran National Volleyball player, Abdul Rashid Awan was Chief Guest, who presented the title trophies. Among others present were District Horticulture Officer, Suresh Kumar; Deputy Director (retired) of J K Technical Education Department, Mohammad Iqbal Kohli; Tariq Khan, Chairman Shahid Manjit Singh Club Poonch; Firoz Ul Nisa Sahiba, Sarpanch Kalai; M Zaffer Khatana, Headmistress and IInd Headmistress HS Kalai, Anies Fatima as also Nasim Akhter, Sahibaan Javed Ahmed, Food Safety Officer; Nasim Akhter and Basharat Kohli.
