AHA organises two days management development training for nurses

JAMMU: Two days State Level Management Development Programme (MDP) for Nursing Professionals/Tutors and M.Sc Nursing Students of Government and Private Nursing Colleges/ GNM/ANMT Schools of Jammu Division being organized by Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA), India in collaboration with Bee Enn College of Nursing Chak Balwal, Jammu commenced on Thursday at the auditorium of Bee Enn College of Nursing. Director (Coord) New Medical Colleges, Paramedical & Nursing Colleges J&K (National President AHA India), Dr. Yashpal Sharma was the Chief Guest of this training programme along with Dr. Sanjay Sharma Dy Director Health Services Jammu representing Director Health. Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent Maternity Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Kunil Bhalla Managing Trustee of Bee Enn Charitable Trust and Neelam Bhalla Advisor to Bee Enn College of Nursing; Dr Vijay Raina Medical Supdt Govt Hospital Sarwal Jammu, Shakuntala Sharma Director to Bee Enn College of Nursing; Neetu Sharma Principal Nursing Institute and Prof Frank Principal Bee Enn College of Nursing, Dr Israel Jeba Prabu Vice Principal Bee Enn College of Nursing where among the dignitaries present.
Dr Arun presented informed about activities being done by AHA Jammu Chapter while Neelam Bhalla presented vote of thanks. M. Sadiq Khan Mass Education Information Officer (National Trainer) handled the stage. Total 60 participants took part in the training. Dr Yashpal Sharma said that AHA is an autonomous professional organization consisting of highly qualified and experienced experts and faculty in hospital & health systems operations. AHA India has been conducting Management Development Programs (MDPs) for health care professionals since its inception in 1987, he said.
The Nursing professionals are the corner stone of any quality related programme in health care organization. Keeping this in mind, nursing excellence standards have been framed by NABH with a view to lay down the guidelines for evaluating the nursing services being provided by health care organization.
In J&K AHA India has organized till date one each 5 days Management Development programme( MDP) for medical officers of Jammu as well as Kashmir.
Topics of two days State Level MDP include Medical Negligence, Communication & Soft Skills, Women Empowerment & Development, Role of Nursing In Prevention of Hospital Infection, Ethical & Legal Issues Related to Nursing Management in Hospitals, Challenges in Management Clinical Services (Accident and Emergency Services Operation Theater), HR & Conflict Management, Disaster Management Role of Nursing Staff, Skilled Based Methods of Teaching and Learning & Bridging the Theory and Clinical Gap, Quality Assurance in nursing.
