Names missiong in electoral roll

Dear Editor,
With due respect it is to bring into your notice that the electoral rolls of Ward No 59, 60, 61,62,63,64,65,66 and 67 of Raipur Domana Constituency, consolidated by JMC have been released. The general public is disappointed and has raised objections as to its corrections as thousands of names are missing from the voter lists.
Just for example Ward No 64 is Consisting of Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar, Swaran Vihar, Rajinder Nagar areas the names of voters depicted in the voter list are ¼ of the voters shown in the JMC voter list of year 2012. The other left out are the permanent resident of J and K State putting up in their own houses. They are paying the electric bills/water supply bills regularly without any break. Their names were somehow consolidated in the year 2012 by JMC staff, the records of which is available with JMC and Election Office. It is not understood by whose orders the names of such voters who already exercised their voting rights in the previous municipal elections have been deleted. In fact some vested interests are quite clear by doing so. The same is the case for other areas also.
It is not fair that a majority of permanent residents of J and K State residing in the area be deprived of the democratic rights provided by the Constitution. Also if the elections are conducted on the basis of such fictitious voter lists the same shall in no case be accepted as fair election.
It is mandatory to compile an updated voter list before any elections and as such the residents putting up in their respective areas can exercise the democratic voting rights. It is as such requested that the early action in the matter be taken in the interest of general public so that the democratic rights of the people are restored.
