JAMMU: NSS GGM Science College Jammu under the patronage of Principal Dr. Rajesh Gupta and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized heritage walk and cleanliness drive at Raghunath Temple in collaboration with INTACH Jammu Chapter. The temple consists of a complex of seven Hindu shrines.
Raghunath Temple was constructed by the first Dogra ruler Maharaja Gulab Singh in the year 1835. The NSS volunteers also carried out cleanliness drive in the temple area.
On the occasion, Advocate Ajay Gandotra, President J&K Dharmarth Trust, who was the Chief Guest, flagged off the heritage walk along with S.M Sahni (KAS Retd), Convener Intach Jammu Chapter, Dr C.M Seth Co Convenor Intach J&K, Ashok Kumar Sharma (SSP Retd) Secretary J&K Dharmarth Trust, Kirpal Singh Life Member INTACH, Dr Suvidha Khanna and Prof Deepali Mahajan senior faculty members. Ajay Gandotra, asked students to consider this temple as a marvel of the rich heritage of the region and also feel the essences of its religious significance and the popularity which this site enjoys among the visitors coming from within the country and even abroad. He asked the students to visit other temples of Dharmarth Trust and explore their marvelous architecture and feel proud to be the part and parcel of the region having such majestic and pristine glory. Administrative Officer Dharmarth Trust, Manmohan Singh and Assistant Manager Raghunath Temple, Sandeep Kumar were also present.
