AKHNOOR: Pushvinder Manhas Sr. Vice-President Young Panthers and Panthers Party MLA candidate from Akhnoor Assembly Constituency along with several party leaders addressed a huge public gathering at Aknhoor on Friday.
In his speech, he reminded the people about the historic importance of Akhnoor and paid his rich tributes to Raja Bhaid Devta and Raja Kahi Naag the elder son of Vasuki Naag under whose reigns Akhnoor blossomed and flourished. He also recalled the historic coronation of Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of J and K which was solemnised at Akhnoor on 17th June, 1822.
Pushvinder lamented that despite of Akhnoor being an important place of the Dogras in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, it could not find any place in the historical map of the State. He asserted that Akhnoor Tehsil as a whole being represented by two ministers could not develop and flourish because of the inefficiency and incompetency of the ministers. Pushvinder termed them as mere “Paper and toothless tigers”.
Pushvinder took a jibe on the sitting MLA and Minister PHE for his recent remarks on ‘Hindu Chief Minister’ of J and K adding that “where was he when the pilgrims tents were burnt by the miscreants during the Amarnath Yatra? Where was he when the Kashmiri stone pelters were deployed as Gangmen and Coolies on the Katra –Lakhanpur railway track?”, Pushvinder lambasted. He added that the minister is trying to polarise and befool the electorate ahead of the Assembly elections.
The cavalcade led by the Panthers Party leaders crossed through Kot-Garhi, Sungal More, Ballebagh, Banal, Badyalachak, Devipur, Naiwala, Chak-Kirpalpur, Muthi, Mandiwala, Jourian and returned via Judd-Sohal with flying colours.
