The media, also known as fourth pillar of democracy, has been bestowed with the responsibility of disseminating every type of information among masses not only regarding work policies and achievements of Government but also reporting all incidents, happening across the globe. But in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir, which is facing terrorism as part of proxy war of neighbouring country Pakistan, the media has another important responsibility to make people aware of conspiracies and other evil designs of anti-national elements and terrorists, who are hell bent to destroy peaceful atmosphere of the nation.
Except for a few exceptions, majority of media groups across J&K understand their responsibility towards the nation and perform their duties with full dedication and zeal, without any favourtism.
No doubt, the security forces have done a great job in tightening noose around terror monsters across J&K, but it would not be wrong to say that all those media houses and journalists too deserve kudos, who without any fear report from the Valley consistently and bravely.
As such, it is quite obvious that terrorists may threat these honest ‘fighters of pen’ to refrain them from performing their legitimitate duties. As per reports some terrorist groups in valley, sent threats to few journalists for their nationalist working, which is really condemnable. The need of the hour is that all social and other organizations, even common man should come forward in support of nationalist media houses and journalists so that they can perform their duties with added zeal and vigour without any threat from terrorists. Moreover, the brave journalists should also not get afraid of all such threats as they are not alone but entire society is with them.
The need of the hour is to support all these journalists, who without caring for their lives or coming under any pressure, are carrying forward the nationalist agenda and making people aware of the nefarious designs of anti-national elements.
