JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Volleyball Association is all set to host the 48th Junior National Volleyball-Boys and Girls– Championship at MA Stadium Jammu from November 14 to 19.
The National Championship, being held in coordination with J&K Sports Council (JKSC), under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India (VAFI) will be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha tomorrow at 3:30 PM.
52 teams drawn from 26 States/UTs across the country are participating in this sporting extravaganza, vying for the top honors.
The participating States/UTs include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, UT Ladakh, Telangana and Uttaranchal and host Jammu and Kashmir.
The organizers have made elaborate arrangements for smooth and comfortable stay of the visiting contingents.
It is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that a record number of teams are participating in National Championship.
He said for smooth and successful conduct of the matches, the organizers have prepared all the volleyball Courts at one venue of MA Stadium, adding that the matches will be officiated by panel of experts drawn from the Department of Youth Services and Sports and School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
Raj Guru, Senior Vice President of VAJK, while reviewing the arrangements at MA Stadium, said VAJK is all set to host National Championship from tomorrow. He said elaborate arrangements have been made to host participating states and Union Territories from across the country in the championship.
He said all the office bearers of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir under the guidance of Patron-in-Chief Raj Dulaja and supervision of president Sidharth Daluja made all efforts to make fool-proof arrangements of the participating players and officials in the venue to make the ensuing national championship most remarkable and successful.
