Strength Lifting Competition at Choudhary Gym Sandeep of Choudhary Gym declared Champion of Champions

JAMMU: Sandeep (Manu) of Choudhary Gym was declared as the Champion of Champions in Strength Lifting Competition organised by Choudhary Gym in the Gym at Moti Bazaar, here today.
About 80 players displayed their strength in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Chairman, Indian Style Wrestling Association, Prem Choudhary, in his welcome address, expressed his desire to make the youth of J and K to be physically and mentally strong. He appealed to the government to provide health Infrastructure in the State particularly modernisation of traditional Akharas (Wrestling Clubs) wherein, budding players from the far flung areas would stay and train and prove their mettle at national level.
Chief Guest, Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appealed to the youth to take inspiration from young revolutionaries like Chandra Shekher Azad, Bhagat Singh who were the product of Akharas and to use their energy in the positive direction. He promised to modernise Dewan Mandir Akharas.
Prem Choudhary, while honouring Incharge Police Post Chowk Chobutra Sunil Manhas (National Medalist), appealed to the players to take sports as a career opportunity and not just as recreational activity.
The competition was officiated by technical panel comprising Sunil Sharma, Ajay Sharma (Ajju), Rahul Sawhney (National Medalist) and Vinay Sharma (National Medalist).

Below 53 kg: Ziya Khan first, Shubam second and Rohit third. 53 to 59 kg: Arun Anand first, Shravan second and Sushant third. 59 to 66 kg: Akshay Gupta first, Shubam Gupta second and Achal Gupta third. 66 to 74 kg: Ritlesh Gupta first, Azim Aslam second and Sahil Verma third. 74 to 83 kg: Sandeep (Manu) first, Ashok second and Tajinder Singh third. 83 to 93 kg: Dushyant Ghai first, Gorav second and Susheel third. Above 93 kg: Aseem Gupta first, Avinash second and Karan third.
