Rotary Club provides Rs 8 lakh to congenital heart disease patients for operation

JAMMU: In its ongoing humanitarian programme of ‘Gift of Life’, Rotary Club of Jammu City sent a young lady for operation to New Delhi. “A young lady named Anuradha suffering from congenital heart disease is being sent for operation through Rotary’s ongoing humanitarian programme of Gift of Life,” Club President Sanjeev Vaid told reporters here on Saturday.
“The entire cost of around Rs 8 lakh has been borne by Rotary Club of Jammu City and Rotary International Rotary Club of East Delhi and the operation will be done at National Heart Institute Delhi on 7th March, 2016,” he informed.
“The Rotary International through its various clubs this year alone operated more than 500 children from BPL families of Jammu and Kashmir under the programme of Gift of Life,” he disclosed. Vaid also announced that Rotary Club of Jammu city executed a project at village Khogipur, Bishnah by providing all year round irrigation system at a cost of around Rs 21 lakh.
“The club is now planning to go ahead by creating a second phase so that more and more villages could benefit from the mission to improve the economy of BPL families,” he said.
