J&K defeats West Bengal, enters final

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday defeated West Bengal by five wickets in the semifinal and entered the final of the ongoing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Inter State Cricket Championship for the Disabled at KD Singh Babu Stadium Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
Batting first, West Bengal scored 150 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted 20 overs. Rajat Biswas played a fine inning of 47 runs followed by Abdul Khalik and Tushar Paul, who made 38 and 27 runs respectively. For J&K, Amir and Wasim Iqbal scalped two wickets each while Nadeem, Manzoor and Majid took one wicket each.
In reply, J&K chased the target in 16.4 overs by losing five wickets thus won the match by five wickets. Wasim Iqbal played a match winning knock of 76 runs studded by eight sixes while Jaffar also made important 26 runs Aiyaz and Majid contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively for the total.
For West Bengal, Jayanta and Jayesh grabbed two wickets each while Ajaz took one wicket. For his match wining knock, Wasim Iqbal was declared Man of the Match and was awarded Rs.10,000 cash.
The final match between J&K and Haryana shall be played tomorrow at 11:00 AM in the same venue and Deputy Chief Minister has consented to be the Chief Guest in the final valediction function, informed by the Organizers.
