Rozgar Mela: Union MoS hands over appointment letters to Jammu youth

JAMMU: Union Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Kailash Chaudhary on Saturday handed over appointment letters to around 50 candidates selected for jobs in various government departments and organizations.
The programme was held at Convention Centre here on the sidelines of the inauguration of ‘Rozgar Mela’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference.
The candidates, who have been handed over the appointment letters, have been recruited in the Department of Posts, Central Reserve Police Force, CISF, Canara Bank, Jammu & Kashmir Grameen Bank and Department of Water Resources & River Development.
The Minister congratulated the candidates, saying the Prime Minister has announced 10 lakh jobs to the youth within one year to be provided in the subsequent months from now on.

NORTHERN RAILWAYS: 25 youth get jobs in Udhampur
Udhampur/Jammu: Union Minister Ajay Bhatt handed over appointment letters to 25 youths recruited in the Northern Railway at an event in Udhampur as part of the “Rozgar Mela” launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Officials said the railway selection process has been simplified and tech enabled to expedite recruitments. The Northern Railway has appointed 598 candidates since June 1, they said.
Appointment letters were given to 50 new recruits — 25 in Ambala and 25 in Udhampur — on Saturday.
It is a well-known fact that Indian railways is not only the largest employer in India but also one of the best employers in the country, offering its employees all that they can aspire for or desire, the officials said.
A job in the Indian railways not only receives social respect, but it also comes with many perks and benefits, they said.
The Minister congratulated the new appointees and extended his best wishes to them for bright future. The Union Minister asked them to work with a positive mindset, while performing various activities related to their job and always remain ready for any type of tasks to be assigned by the department.
The Minister said that the programme showcases continuous commitment of the Government towards providing job opportunities to the youth and ensuring citizen welfare. He informed that this will be a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Prime Minister of India to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring welfare of the citizens.
The Minister said that the Government of India launched various centrally sponsored schemes/ flagship programmes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi like Digital India, Smart city mission, Atal mission for rejuvenation and Urban transformation, Housing for all, Infrastructure Development and Industrial Corridors which have significantly contributed towards generating employment opportunities and have attracted investment in various sectors.
The Minister also said that another milestone of the government in the series of initiatives towards employment generation is to provide government jobs to 10 lakhs youth in the country. The entire target of providing 10 lakhs jobs will be completed in a time bound manner, he added.
He informed that India is celebrating 75 years of Independence. It has been decided that approximately 75,000 appointment letters are to be issued on today as a first tranche. This process of appointment of 75,000 officials every month will be continued for the next one year to complete the targets of 10 lakhs appointments, the Minister added.
Chairperson DDC, Udhampur Lal Chand, Vice Chairperson DDC, Juhi Manhas Pathania, SSP, Dr Vinod Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan, BDC Chairman, Balwan Singh and other senior officers from Railway also attended the Rozgar Mela.

Observing that the country is on the path to become a developed nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Minister said that the Government is working with a long term vision for the next 25 years instead of five year plans to ensure that India becomes a developed nation by the year 2047.
Free gas connections under Ujjwala, PMAY houses for rural and urban areas, Har Ghar Nal Se Jal and other schemes besides construction of infrastructure in mission mode throughout the country are being undertaken to speed up the pace of development, the Minister added.
The Minister further said that the world class roads and highways are being constructed to ensure connectivity to reach all corners of the country that will also strengthen the nation’s defence system.
The Minister highlighted the role of today’s youth in achieving set targets during this period. He called upon the youth to work with patriotism and with a sense of nationalism to spearhead India’s progress.
The event was also attended by Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore; Chief Postmaster General (Jammu and Kashmir Circle) Niraj Kumar; Chief Postmaster General (Jammu Region), Col. Vinod Kumar and DIG CRPF, Rakesh Sethi.
After the ‘Rozgar Mela’ event, the Minister also inaugurated an exhibition depicting various technologies related to farmers welfare by SKUAST-Jammu, KVK’s, FPO’s Progressive farmers Self Help Groups.
During the inauguration, the Minister emphasized upon youth to become job providers rather than job seekers, saying for making the country Atma Nirbhar, the farmers should adopt new technologies, precision agriculture, vertical farming so as to boost their income from agriculture.
The Minister further said that the farmers should utilize various government schemes meant for agriculture as Atma Nirbhar Kisan would be the key for making Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
The Minister also distributed seeds of newly released variety of Wheat JAUW 672 by SKUAST-JAMMU among the farmers.
