JKP SI recruitment scam: Court grants 10-day police remand of BSF Medical Officer

JAMMU: CJM Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh granted 10-day police remand of Dr Karnail Singh, Medical Officer, BSF who was arrested by CBI in much publicized paper leakage scam.
The accused was produced in custody by Investigating Officer, DySP Prashant Sharma of CBI, ACB Jammu and party in connection with aforesaid FIR for offences under section 120-B read with Section 420 of IPC alongwith Case Diary with a prayer for grant of fifteen (15) days of police remand in respect of accused. CJM after perusal of CA file observed that accused seems to have been arrested on 18.10.2022 in FIR in question. “Investigation is at initial stage in so far as it pertains to accused. In order to pin-down the role of accused in the FIR in question, prayer of investigating agency to seek police remand in respect of accused, on facts and for reasons outlined in application, therefore seems to be validly tenable and is therefore granted. Accused is thus remanded to police custody for a period of ten (10) days from today till 28.10.2022,” the Court directed.
